Scarlet Lady Saloon
About This Spot
Walking into Scarlet Lady Saloon feels like stepping into a cherished local hideaway, a place where life's fast pace slows just enough to catch your breath while the familiar hum of laughter and clinking glasses wraps around you. Nestled in the heart of Culver City, this is the kind of sports bar that feels lived-in—not polished or flashy, but warmly authentic, with a pulse that beats steady and unpretentious.
The atmosphere carries a welcoming, no-frills spirit where regulars and newcomers alike gather easily. There’s a relaxed rhythm here, anchored by the sounds of pool balls breaking apart, the occasional burst of a karaoke anthem sung with earnest enthusiasm, and televisions tuned to the latest games scattered throughout the room. It’s one part sanctuary for sports fans, one part stage for the bold and playful, and wholly a spot to unwind alongside a crowd that spans all walks of life.
Drinks flow with a friendly generosity, whether it’s the carefully crafted mango margarita that offers a fruity reprieve or the hearty Dodger Blonde Ale, served cold and without fuss. The Bloody Mary, given a unique twist here, feels like a welcoming handshake on a Sunday afternoon. Bartenders wield the cocktail shaker with a practiced ease that matches their genuine warmth, making you feel part of a quietly ongoing conversation.
Scarlet Lady Saloon isn’t about polished atmosphere or sleek decor—it’s about people, stories, and moments shared over drinks and a game of pool or darts. It holds onto a charming dive bar spirit, where the pinball machine flickers in the corner and strangers at adjoining tables find common ground in shared laughter and song. Whether you come seeking the comfort of familiar faces or the encouragement to take the stage, the vibe is honest and inviting, a little rough around the edges but rich with heart.

The last of the great heroes of this country died by gunshot in the Cincinnati Zoo in 1999. Those of us that are left to toil amongst the living dead seek shelter to remove the soil from our hats, shaking them free of dust at the saloons front door. A classic dive to wet your whistle, karaoke sign on the door, a lonely pinball machine, freaks and wizards from all across the land sharing tables and chairs, super Mario on his lunch break. This is the city of angels and demons, shotguns and suburbs, sublime on the jukebox and the spoils of war await the weary traveler hot and tired from the road. Come see the scarlet lady, let her treat you, wine and dine you. Walk in through her doors, it’s weirder outside I assure you. Smoke. Cook. Eat. #divebar #pinball #karaoke #booze

(3.5 stars, deservedly rounded up to 4) Quite a decent watering hole, has a very "local" feel to it. The bartenders are all fantastic... very welcoming and personable with heavy hands. Drinks are very reasonably priced which is indeed a gem for Culver City. Not gimmicky here at all... they've got pool tables, tons of TVs for sports, dart boards, a nice stage for Karaoke which is a lot of fun, typical Sports Bar fare. They do have events like a Burlesque show on the 3rd Tuesday of the month IIRC; never been there for one of those though so I can't speak on it. Downsides are that there's no "food program" but there are a few restaurants very close by (namely Tomy's next door if you're there in the afternoon which is cash-only but there is an ATM in the bar) a great Gyro place right around the corner and Jack in the Crack is right across the street. Also, keep in mind that this is almost exclusively an older crowd so if you're expecting a younger/mixed aged clientele like "The Backstage" you'll probably be let down. The establishment itself could perhaps use a light remodel/deep clean but it's definitely not to the point the health department needs to be called. Overall, a perfect local non-touristy spot with no-frills, no-gimmicks, kind interesting folks that make for great conversations and inexpensive drinks. I don't like drinking all that much so I'm not there very often but it's perfect for what it is meant for and to me that's what counts at the end of the day.

I love the stuff and the vibe.. I really Recommend . Plus plus beautiful people. We all have a unique story of life. But we all have one thing in common. And that is that we love to sing our heart out. Thanks Scarlett for a wonderful night. PEACE.

In Florida, we would call this a "local dive bar". Which translated means, you can't go wrong and the people are friendly. I was literally driving by and took a chance. I'm glad I did.
